Did you know, more than 10 countries celebrate a form of Thanksgiving? Not only that, but all of them center around the same theme- giving thanks!
I wanted to explore Ku’Lani’s greatest asset; the people. I asked everyone I could find, what they are grateful for this year. Here were some of the responses:
Snow, DJ Q2, Lani, Morri, and I’m sure everyone else all said they were thankful for their friends and families, but we also had some more great responses I can’t possibly leave out. Ku’Lani’s own The Irresistible Dr Bobbiestar is thankful for tequila and loves turkey! Lani wanted to share she is specifically grateful for, “8 years later and so many have come and gone but I am grateful for my Ku'Lani fam :)”
When Rhae was asked, I received the most heartfelt response: “What am I thankful for? That's pretty simple really. My 2 Furry Land Sharks (Dogs) Rocky & Willow without them I'd have no one to share my thoughts and hopes. They mend my broken soul more times then I can count.
And I'm also thankful for my RL & SL family. Without the support I would not be able to make it through some of the darkest times I've faced. Some of you know and some don't, even those people who aren't aware of giving me the strength to push forward. My heartfelt gratitude and love for all.” We all love Rhae, and her furry land sharks she graciously shares photos of in discord. Thank you for being such a strong supporter and driving force in Ku’Lani Rhae!
I was so grateful that I had a couple people we don’t normally hear much from respond to my questions. When asked what they were thankful for, and why they chose to call Ku’Lani home I had one person respond who wanted to be anonymous: “TBH my gfs and I love it here because we feel safe. We stay together and chat from work. People here are kind. -You can keep me as anonymous but this is home. People like you are kind.”
Xenia Dakota was kind enough to indulge my questions and came down to hang out for Lani’s Happy Hour. “Each and every gift of a new day, the good things we fill it with, the bad things that give it meaning and worth.” After some thought Xenia also told me why she chose Ku’Lani to be her home, “ I guess I'd been coming here for a while, so when I wanted a lil relaxing me-time, it was the place I chose” We’re thankful to have you in Ku’Lani Xenia!
Thanksgiving wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without the delicious foods and of course I had to ask people what their favorite dishes were. I even got a couple recipes you’ll see at the bottom of this blog! We know Bobbie is fond of the tequila and turkey, but Lani loves curried goat! She even made Patti LeBelles stuffing one year and loved it…. Too bad it had sausage in it and some of her family wasn’t a fan. Alfina on the other hand, she will eat a whole tray of stuffing by herself! Xenia has been in the US and Australia for Thanksgiving and her favorite thing is Vegemite on toast.
Did you know pumpkin pie in Australia is not as sweet as pumpkin pie in the states? Alfina made it a point to let us know she doesn’t like pumpkin spice things but would eat the hell out of pumpkin pie. I wonder if the pumpkin pie in Australia has pumpkin spices in it? Hmmmmm……

To bring this Thanksgiving to a close, I’d like to say- I am grateful for everyone at Ku’Lani from the tenants, to the staff, to the visitors, you all make Ku’Lani the best place on the grid to call home and party! I hope everyone (near and far, all countries included) have and/or have had a great Thanksgiving!
