  • An Introduction to Ku’Lani Beach Resort

Explore Ku’Lani Using The TP Boards

Near the main landing area, and also located in a few other spots in Ku’Lani, you can find our TP boards.
Even though I think everyone should wander the sim on foot, or on horseback, that’s not practical for everyone because of time constraints, familiarity, or just not wanting to walk!
We’re going to list the locations found on the TP Board, and everything else you’ll need to explore in the coming months, or on foot.

    http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Magic/96/162/22

    1) The Koffee Korner.
The Koffee Korner is a main gathering point, a good place to meet friends for a voice chat, or a wonderful spot to park your avi while you keep in touch with friends while working in another window. We encourage multi-tasking at Ku’Lani! The magazine box is located here, and it’s very close to many other important locations. Consider this the central meeting point of the community.

    2) The Pool and The Games Tables
The main pool is the place a lot of parties happen. We have so many loungers and floaties in and around the pool, you can cuddle with all your friends or even meet new ones there. (Just to be clear, when I say “cuddle” the option of more than cuddling is always there!)
We have several games tables, including our most popular, Greedy, so make sure you bring friends for a few games. Look around the back of the pool, there is a gazebo with more seating, and a mountain to climb. I encourage you to climb it if you enjoy a little peace.

    3) The Party Dock
Ku’Lani’s biggest events happen here. This dock has room for plenty of dancing, and seating around the back. Our concerts can happen on the party dock, and many of our parties. Nearby, on the sand, is more loungers and a hot tub. You can get a pretty nice view of some of Ku’Lani’s beach cottages from here, but just remember, don’t enter unless invited.

    4) Hippie Beach
Hippie Beach is another of our most popular event locations. Interestingly, even though we have DJ parties all over the sim, this is the only spot that actually has a DJ booth. The VW Van is a fun spot to sit and watch people if you don’t feel like dancing. We have a chat circle here, ready for a big voice chat session. All around the perimeter you’ll find loungers and beach towels for more cuddles with friends. The shacks are loaded with features, explore them to see!
The last notable feature we will mention is the horse stand out near the gate. The horses are free to use, just click the stand and choose a horse. Ride the horse around the sim to explore. There’s so much to see!

    5) The Quiet Pool
Long ago, this pool earned the nickname Quiet Pool, because when people who wanted to relax didn’t want all the action that happens near the main pool, they went to visit this one. Located in the peninsula where the beach cottages are, the Quiet Pool has been a reliable place to meet friends and have a chat or cuddle. Not far from this spot is the Spa, a little spot with a massage table and a coffee area.

    6) The Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is right under a mountain, and beside a lagoon. The lagoon has a few fun floating rafts for socializing, and you can watch all of the action happening at the pool from a quiet distance.
On the Boardwalk is the manager board, a little MyStory farmer market, and a MyStory seating area with food and water. Have a seat, recharge!

    7) Waterfall Beach
Ku’Lani has several beaches, but this one is the most picturesque. With a wonderful view of the ocean, and a waterfall towering above the sand at one end, this is truly a spot you need to vist to relax in for a while. There are loungers and a gazebo available, and a bar for more lubricated socializing. We have parties here sometimes, you’ll notice that there is plenty of room to dance.
We also have short-term rental cottages available beside this beach.

    8) The Hot Springs
The Hot Springs and The Ruins is one of our most remote locations. Hidden behind a jungle of vegetation, and old building can be found to explore. Behind this building is the Hot Springs, where you can get naked and enjoy nature’s amazing bathing water. Bring a towel, relax awhile and socialize with your friends.

    9) The Zipline
Ku’Lani has a zipline. Actually, it has two ziplines! The TP board lands you at the bottom of the mountain. Climb carefully up the rickety old stairs to find the ziplines. Be careful of the overgrown palms, they will get in your way, so move slowly. When you get to the top, the view will be worth it. And then take a ride on either of the lines!

Ku’Lani is ready for you to explore. Start with these nine spots, and continue at your own pace, or ask for a tour. More unique places to visit on the blog or in the next magazine issue. Stay tuned!

  • Ku’Lani Staff Interview – Cala!

After the inaugaral issue of Ku’Lani Konnects magazine, I had a chance to sit down with CalaLili Tigerpaw, a longtime member of the Ku’Lani family, who is the editor & publisher of the new magazine. The second issue just hit newsstands this week, so let’s talk to Cala!

Snow: Tell us about your Ku’Lani origin story
Cala: I was looking for something fun to do and stumbled on Ku’Lani. Although I missed the major live singer event i went there for , I stayed and connected with so many friendly people there, and had such a great time. I kept going back and after a while, I discovered they have daily DJ/Host parties, so i started coming to party at them with hot music and sexy dancing. Ku’Lani became my go-to escape, where the magical atmosphere of music, vibes, and people combined. It wasn’t just about the parties; it was a place where strangers became friends, engaging in endless conversations and uncovering new faces, stories, and adventures. Ku’Lani is just where the magic happens.

Snow: Every time I’ve seen you, you have Opal at your side. How did Opal become part of your SL Life?
Cala: I love having a theme for my Second Life avatar and one of my themes is large cats. It started with Pearl, a stunning Siberian White Tiger. Pearl is an older creation, but she was my first so now I let her roam around freely at my home, where I get to see her graceful movements all the time. Opal has become my ultimate partner-in-crime. We’re practically inseparable now. Whether it’s shopping or exploring new and exciting places, she’s right there by my side. And you know what’s even cooler? She even joins me when I’m hosting at Ku’Lani. Opal’s presence provides solace, companionship, and symbolizes strength and resilience—a constant reminder of our unwavering determination in both virtual and real lives.

Snow: What do you do for fun in your second life?

Cala: Well, I do love doing alot of things but it depends on my mood of course. There’s the classics that everyone seems to enjoy like dancing, meeting people, chatting and shopping. But probably my favorite things have more to do with expressing myself creatively. I enjoy hosting a lot because it allows me to dance, meet people and chat while working and I like making eye catching GIF flyers for my sets so it lets me blow off some creative steam. Also, shopping for a particular outfit for a themed party is really fun too. Putting together all the pieces can be a real challenge but so satisfying when accomplished! I really enjoy working on the magazine too. It was a mad dash to meet the deadline we had set to release the first issue before the 7th anniversary. It’s kind of a miracle we actually pulled it off!

Snow: What made you take the jump into publishing?
Cala: I would say publishing kinda jumped on me lol During a staff meeting at Ku’Lani I had a flash of inspiration. I suggested there could be a magazine to try to spread the word about Ku’Lani for everyone who hadn’t clicked on the website. My inspiration was the Ku”Lani Blog and my original vision of it was almost like the Blog but inworld. At the same time I thought there’s a lot of very interesting, creative and talented people on the beach so we could do interviews and interesting articles about whats going on. So the idea was very popular and everyone agreed it would be a positive thing but to my surprise they more or less volunteered me for it lol I had never done any work like this so I was pretty nervous. The first thing I did was pick the most awesome team so we could work together on this massive project. After finding the best players I knew we could do anything we set out to do. Even though we do work very hard to produce a quality result, we still love what we’re doing and know we can depend on each other when we need.

Snow: Did anything surprise you about preparing your first issue?
Cala: Preparing my first issue of the magazine was definitely an eye-opening experience. One thing that surprised me was the sheer amount of work and dedication required to bring it all together. From selecting content to designing layouts and ensuring everything was polished, it demanded much more time and effort than I had initially anticipated. However, what truly amazed me was the incredible creativity and talent of the people around me. Collaborating with writers, photographers, and artists opened my eyes to a whole new world of ideas and perspectives. Their contributions elevated the magazine to new heights, and I realized that I was surrounded by a community of individuals with remarkable artistic abilities. It was an inspiring realization that fueled my passion for publishing and motivated me to continue showcasing the incredible talent within our island community Ku’lani Beach.
Another aspect that took me by surprise was the challenge of distributing our magazine to our members. I quickly realized that getting our publication into the hands of our audience required significant effort and strategizing. From navigating various platforms and channels to reaching out to potential readers, the process proved to be more complex than I had ever imagined. However, I also saw this as an opportunity for growth and innovation. It pushed me to explore creative ways of promoting our magazine and building a strong readership. Despite the unexpected difficulties, I remain determined to overcome these obstacles and ensure that our magazine reaches the hands of those who would appreciate and enjoy it.

  • Featured Spot # 7 – Waterfall Beach

When you wander around Ku’Lani, you’re sure to find a few beaches! One of our beaches has a waterfall as the focal point, which I’ve cleverly called Waterfall Beach for this post. Just a short walk from Koffee Korner, this beach is used for parties sometimes, and it’s a great spot to relax.

There’s a bar, have a few drinks and then go have a nap in the covered cabana. When you’re ready, go get close to the waterfall and enjoy the beauty of nature before you begin some more exploring.

Come down to Ku’Lani, explore the sim, spank the TP Board and find a few new spots. And while you’re here, make some friends and stay around for a while!

  • Featured Spot # 6 – The Boardwalk

Ku’Lani has something new to see on The Boardwalk! A little Farmer’s Market has been added, you can rent a spot to sell your MyStory veg. So get those veggies picked and bring it down to Ku’Lani!

Just to remind you – we have a Teleport Board near the Koffee Korner, and we have 9 locations referenced on the map, along with corresponding teleport pads. The scripts have been updated a few days ago, so our travelling should be pretty smooth! The Boardwalk is #6 on the board. Visit them all, but this blog post we’re talking about #6.

Across the lagoon from the Games Decks, we have a Boardwalk where all the business happens. We have an Event Board, The Farmer’s Market, a Manager’s Board and a Suggestion Box. You can lay on the loungers beside the boarwalk, or swim over to get on the raft with a friend.

Stop by The Boardwalk and visit the Market, then go back to the TP Baord to find another new spot. Say hello, and make new friends at Ku’Lani All-Inclusive Beach Resort!

  • Featured Spot # 4 – Hippie Beach

If you’ve been around in the last month, you will have seen the new Teleport Board near the Koffee Korner. Today we’re featuring Hippie Beach, which is #4 on the board. Hippie Beach is a spot that has everything! We have a dance area, we have a campfire, a dock to sit and stare at the ocean, and we have plenty of places to cuddle with a friend or two (including the private shacks).

So press that #4 on the Ku’Lani TP Board, and come check out Hippie Beach.

And don’t forget to ride a horse while you’re here. The horse stand is right on the end of Hippie Beach, look for that and take a ride!

  • Places to Relax

People come to the beach for different reasons – partying, dancing, soaking up the sun, or… relaxing! Ku’Lani has a couple of spots to wind-down and relax, either along or with a partner.

Visit the Hot Springs, where there are rock pools to relax in the warm bubbling water, and Adirondack (Muskoka) chairs for lounging. The rocks keep the area quiet and secluded, so go relax, lose some clothes and shed some stress.

When you finish at the Hot Springs, wander past the quiet pool to the Ku’Lani Spa, where you can have a coffee, then twist your partners arm into giving you a massage. A professional massage table is ready for you, just relax and you will end up happy.

Visit soon, bring a friend, and after you relieve some stress, come join the events at Ku’Lani.
